I would say that in Russia, people are more respectful towards elders than in the United States. You can observe that by noticing that younger citizens always offer the elder their seat on the train or the bus. On the other hand I have seen that people in America sometimes do not even offer their seats to the elder. I feel that they dont respect elders but concentrate more on the younger generation. Also I have seen when nobody offered a pregnant woman their seat on the train. In Russia this would not most likely happen because Russians have a lot of respect for pregnant women as well as elders. These are the cultural differences that I have encountered between Russia and America.

Culture Shock
It is very important for us as individuals in society to respect and accept different varieties of cultures. It is especially important for Americans to do so since America is a country of immigrants and tourists. Different cultures have dissimilar perspectives on values and views of life. For instance one culture might value money over happiness, on the other hand another culture might value the opposite. I have seen many differences in cultures as I visited other countries or even regions.

My Perspective
Welcome to my personal blog new and existing visitors. I go by the name of Boris Badalov and I currently attend Baruch College to study business with the intended major of Accounting. I have chosen Psychology as my minor because I wanted to learn more about consumer behavior from the mental and physical perspective. As of right now I am a junior and expect to graduate in 2011. Upon my graduation I want to go for my Masters to sit for the CPA exam. I am very interested about management and look forward to learning a lot from it. I am pretty sure that it is going to be a very fun and educational experience!
